OpenSees and OpenFresco

OpenSees (Open System for Earthquake Engineering) is a software framework for developing applications to simulate the performance of structural and geotechnical systems subjected to earthquakes. The goal of the OpenSees development is to improve the modeling and computational simulation in earthquake engineering through open-source development. I was working at Prof. Fenves lab., UC Berkeley as a research fellow for developing the object-oriented design for hybrid simulation which consists of computational and experimental components.

OpenFresco (Open Framework for Experimental Setup and Control) is a software framework for developing applications to construct virtual experimental laboratory in your software. The initial version of this framework was developed by me and Prof. Fenves and the object-oriented design and implementation are shown in the journal paper (Takahashi and Fenves, Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics, Vol. 35, pp.267-291, 2006). Now the development is public open at NEESforge project page.
